WISH YOU WERE HERE . . . . Fawley Hill Railway

On a warm glorious Summer day in July, our guests attended the VIP event at Fawley Hill, we were part of a group of 300 invited guests, to experience Europe’s amazing Steepest Steam Train incline at Fawley Hill.

Arriving at the picturesque Henley on Thames, we had an insightful tour of the town passing by the Guild Hall with its fantastic innovative architecture

We also passed the Kenton Theatre, a small quaint theatre in the UK. We passed the famous historic rowing club which is responsible for the annual Henley on Thames Regatta.

The amazing thing about Fawley Hill and the animal sanctuary is the vast open space and the sense of traveling back in History as we rode the steam train. Everyone was expectant and looking forward to the splendid views as the Steam Train neared the steepest hill incline for a Steam Train in Europe. As we rode the train, the scenery was eye-catching and fantastic.

The afternoon tea was provided by It’s Time for Vintage Tea

A guided tour of the Lord William McAlphine Museum was given, the unique and large collection of Steam Train Memorabilia was shown to us. The collection had taken 50 years to collect. What a treat.

Driving back to Fawley Hill to Henley on Thames, we took the opportunity to stroll along the beautiful riverside, we caught glimpses of the boats and crowds going to the Henley Festival.

Not before we took the opportunity to visit the house of Ex-Beatle George Harrison. And what a House!
