BOOKINGS & REFUNDS

Your bookings made through Chigwell Tours once accepted and confirmed in writing to you represents a contract between all persons named on the booking form and Chigwell Tours& Visits.

Chigwell Tours are also sold through online agents, affiliates, designated contractors and bookings made with these represents a contract between us so this also must follow our terms of bookings.

Chigwell Tours accept all bookings done through our website and agents are accepted as being true and accurate, if in hindsight this proves to be incorrect the company will not be held liable to any legal actions that arise from this.

  • If you choose to cancel your tour 21 days prior to departure you will receive a 85% refund
  • If you choose to cancel your tour 15 days prior to departure you will receive 35% refund
  • If you choose to cancel you tour under 14 days prior to departure you will NOT receive a refund
  • All cancellation refund are subject to and have incurred a15% administration cost
  • Credit card charges and debit card charges are not refundable.

Enforced Cancellations

Cancellation by Chigwell Tours and Visits (CT&V): Every effort will be made to carry out cruises and steam train events a described in the brochure but in case of adverse weather conditions and/or mechanical issues beyond the company’s control, it may be necessary to change or curtail the planned itinerary. If the company is able to give two or more days’ notice of enforced cancellation, all monies will be refunded. Wherever possible customers will be offered alternative dates and then all monies will be carried across to the new date.

Our Cruises - If the customer arrives for the start of the cruise and in the Skipper’s opinion it is unsafe to depart, no refund will be given, but the barge, her crew and all food will remain at the disposal of the passengers.

If the Ongar steam train breaks down on the morning of the event an alternative train (usually diesel/locomotion) will be used as a replacement.

CT&V can accept no liability for expense or compensation arising from enforced cancellation due to, for example, adverse weather for sailing or mechanical breakdown of steam trains. In the event of the minimum number of bookings not being achieved 2 weeks before a trip, CT&V reserve the right to cancel the trip.

Complaints

Our aim is to provide an excellent service which should meet the expectations of the clients/customers. However with this in mind the company policy states that a full refund will not take place to clients who complain unless due to a cancellation of the tour (which can be because of the suppliers or the weather condition).

All complaints will be investigated and the outcome will be given to clients and in certain cases we can offer a discount on an alternative tour. If the client refuses this offer, the company will take no further action.

TOUR BOOKINGS

ALL TOURS CAN BE BOOKED ONLINE WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. IF A PAYMENT IS MADE PRIOR TO US HAVING CONFIRMED AVAILABILITY AND THE SERVICE IS SUBSEQUENTLY UNAVAILABLE, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO RETAIN 15% OF THE PAYMENT MADE TO COVER OUR ADMINISTRATION COSTS AND BANK CHARGES INCURRED IN MAKING ANY REFUND.

Tour Meeting Point: You will be informed of the pickup locations, times and items you need to bring with you. It is your responsibility to arrive at the location and time given, If you fail to arrive or arrive late and the tour has departed you will not receive a refund, It is the tour guides responsibility to give you information and to inform you to within the group, those who choose to separate themselves from the tour guide and/or the group do so at their own risk . If you arrive inappropriately dressed being allowed on to the tour will be at the discretion of the tour guide/driver.

Customer fails to arrive:

Bus tours and walking tours: if you fail to arrive on time and the tour departs without you no refund will be made.

Tours: Where possible we will endeavour to resell your tour booking (s). While every effort has been made to provide the customer with a safe and enjoyable tour, we cannot accept responsibility for events beyond our control.

Psychical or Medical Disclosure: If you have a medical condition you should disclose it at the time of booking. If you fail to do this and your health or psychical health in affected by taking part in the tour, we will not be held responsible.

Health & Safety: The tour guides are aware of all Health and Safety issues, If the rules instructed by the tour guides are not followed, The company will not be held responsible for any accidents/issue that may occur. Customers should also be aware of any health and safety issues of coming onto a tour and should dress appropriately, It is important during our summer tours when the weather is hot endeavour to bring bottles of water to use for their tour.

During special holidays such as: Easter, Christmas, New Year, August, December, booking would need to be done immediately to ensure availability. Once booked you will receive a confirmation email and/or text for your booking.

Customers who book on our tours are expected to behave appropriately and be aware of the diverse needs of other customers on the tour, Offensive language and behaviour will not be tolerated and disregarding instructions from the tour guide may result in the customer being removed from the tour with NO refund

All Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and are their responsibility at all times.

 

Services such as: Luxury Spa, Golf, Sailing and Flying Lessons and last minute bookings involving third parties, are non refundable.

ACCIDENT or LOSS: We accept no liability for loss, damage, delay, inconvenience, or direct or, consequential loss, however caused, unless due to our employees negligence, in which case our liability is limited to a maximum or the tour cost.

PERSONAL INSURANCE: NOT INCLUDED. WE ADVICE THAT ALL CUSTOMERS SHOULD TAKE OUT APPROPRIATE TRAVEL INSURANCE.

Any late payments are subject to expenses in order to recover the debts.

PRIVACY POLICY

Please read our Privacy Policy which sets out the basis upon which Chigwell Tours & Visits will hold and process any personal data which you provide to us and from which you can be identified.

INDEMNITY

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Concept Consulting RMT Ltd. from any and all losses, liabilities, claims, damages, expenses or costs asserted by any third party in connection with your use of the Website.

LIMITATION AND EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY

You agree that your use of the Website is entirely at your own risk. No warranty of any type is given by Chigwell Tours & Visits as to the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of any information provided on the Website. You agree that all information, services and materials on the Website are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind.
