Catch vintage bus 339 to North Weald station: 10min ride.

Go to the ticket office at North Weald station. Show them your confirmation email in exchange for an envelope.

The envelope would have all the details, the ticket of your tour, and £10 (for 2) for you to purchase your cream tea in Ongar.

You can choose which venue you would like to enjoy your cream tea at. The possible venues can be found below.

This change is due to long queues at The Kings Head, so we felt that it would be better to give our customers a choice of venues instead. This will allow you to have more time and freedom of choice.

Please note that on special Events Days, large crowds attend the events.  Please plan your journey and allow plenty of time for this. The Epping Ongar Railway website will have details and dates of these events.

  • The railway buffet car is occasionally opened and you can purchase teas or coffee or alcohol.
  • Locomotives for the three journeys are interchangeable between steam and diesel.
  • The train company can at short notice, change the timetable.

We recommend comfortable shoes, suitable clothing, an umbrella and a bottle of water.
