We didn’t really know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised by the huge crowds, families with children and the Christmas smells all helped to mask the cold weather!.
On arriving at Rochester train station and the crowds, we felt that we were in for a treat. The huge numbers of people, all walking towards the start of the street paradeat Boley Hill, made it more exciting.

The street parade was fun and seeing all the Dickens characters mingling with the crowds was fun. Fagin and Scrooge, were there. brought back memories. There was so much victorian delights and the open air carol concert on the steps of Rochester Cathedral with the snow, with everyone singing their hearts out, was amazing!
Thanks to Chigwell Tours, this was a Truly good day out.

Good and pleasantly surprised. great improvement since we were here 15 years ago. The train ride to Rochester was quick and pleasant full of expectant people and it was good to watch.. We avoided the crowds and went to houses associated with Dickens and his characters. The exhibition at the Visitor centre was interesting and the walking tour of historic Rochester was a favourite. As I’m not one for shopping, I did manage to find a few unusual items for the family.
I think the carol concert at Rochester Cathedral was good to watch and really good to include in this tour. Its an excellent day out
