ITINERARY
This tour starts at the Oak House Coffee Bar, Maldon High Street.
Private transport available from Stratford Station or Gants Hill Library for an additional fee)
Transport leaves at: 9.15ammm. Contact Kate for details. Allow 1 hour from Gants Hill or Stratford;
Start of Tour:
10.15am: Arrival at Oak house Bar Coffee House. Meet tour guide. Comfort break.
11.00am: Leisurely Walk on Maldon High Street to board the boat at the Quayside.
11.30: Boarding point. Please check your boarding time as late arrivals will not be allowed on board when ready to sail! Suitable clothing and appropriate shoes are necessary. No high heel shoes.
12.00- 2.00pm: Thistle Barge sets sail. When comfortably seated, guests will be welcomed with a glass of prosecco as they enjoy the relaxing sail.
- Leaving the Quay, the vintage boat heads down river past the Victorian Promenade Park
- Past the statue of Brithnoth guarding Maldon against marauding Vikings.
- Cruise past the National Trust owned Northey Island Nature Reserve.
- See Heybridge Basin, the entrance to the Chelmer & Blackwater Canal.
- Watch Mill Beach with its colourful beach huts on legs
- And finally head towards the privately owned Osea Island, now a luxury weekend retreat and wedding venue.
1.00-2.00pm: Enjoy slow cooked roast lunch. Drinks can be purchased from the Basin below deck area when alcohol can be purchased. Guests can also enjoy their lunch on the top deck and fully appreciate the amazing landscape and views.
The return journey will capture the scenes again before returning to the quayside.

- The boat will arrive at the disembarkment point and passengers must allow 10 minutes to dock before being allowed off the boat.
3.00- 4.00: Walking Tour of Maldon
4.30: End of Tour
Transport will pick up booked customers for return journey to Stratford station or Gants Hill Library.
Vehicle
A 6-seater Mercedes taxi (COVID-19 friendly) can be booked to transport groups of 6 or multiples of 6 booked customers to the meeting point at Maldon for an additional cost.
Optional Pick-up point in a Luxury Benz:
